The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle

Now, before you utter the words, "what in the world made you pay to see that movie," let me just tell you that I had the right expectations going into it.  I wasn't looking for substance, I just wanted to see something cute, and I honestly thought that this would be a cute movie where I wouldn't have to think too much.

Everyone is entitled to one mistake in their life.  This was mine.  The most appropriate word that I can use for this movie is *zzzzzzzzz*.  Sadly, I can't even tell you if it redeemed itself, because after 45 minutes I had had enough. I got in my car and bolted home.  If I hadn't done that, I would have fallen asleep!

How can they make an entire movie surrounding the moose and the squirrel?  Well, it appears as though the plot centers on Fearless Leader (Robert DeNiro), Natasha Fatale (Rene Russo) and Boris Badenov (Jason Alexander) becoming human (with the help of a very funny Janeane Garafolo) and then trying to take over the world.  Rocky and Bullwinkle are still cartoons, though, which makes it a little difficult for them to fight the bad guys.  Herein lies the problem. This movie is definitely one that can wait until video.  Even the funniest part of the movie, when Robert DeNiro mocks himself with the "Are you talking to me?" schtick from Taxi Driver, wasn't funny anymore because we all saw it in commercials for the movie.  Kids were having a difficult time keeping their short attention spans on this one.
