Disney’s The Kid To quote a user on the Internet Movie Database, "No kidding - I loved it!" Here’s another movie that completely surprised me. This is a gem folks, a diamond in the rough. Promise me that you will not miss it while it’s still out there in the theaters. I didn’t know quite how I was going to feel about this movie. I will admit that the beginning was somewhat slow and I had a hard time buying into it. But I was intrigued by the strange turn of events that was taking place. My outlook towards the movie all but did a 180 when "the kid" in question appeared. Russ Duritz (Bruce Willis) is about to turn 40 years of age. He is single, consumed by his career and pretty nasty to those around him. In a truly unbelievable sequence of events (you’ll have to suspend your belief here just a little for the magic that is Disney) Russ comes face to face with his 8 year old self, Rusty (Spencer Breslin). This kid steals the show right out from under Willis’ feet! It was touching, it was funny, it was (not to sound like a broken record) surprising!! Rating: * * * * |
