GOLF ETIQUETTE:
KEEPING THE GAME MOVING
Slow play steals much of the enjoyment expected from golf. Here are some recommendations
from the United States Golf Association (USGA) that will keep things moving on the golf
course:
* Putt continuously until you hole out or you might step in another player's line, in
which case you should mark. This minimizes ball marking and loss of time.
* Be prepared. Know when it is your turn to play. Size up the shot and choose the
appropriate club before making others wait.
* Always carry a second ball in your pocket. Use it only if you need to hit a provisional
ball, when you lose the first one.
* Always motion for a match to play through if you're delayed looking for a ball, or if
there's an open hole ahead.
By putting these suggestions into play, you can keep the game moving and maintain proper
etiquette on the greens.
