to the Rules of Golf. As approved by the United States Golf Association and The
Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland United States Golf
Association. Effective January 1, 1998. You can email comments and/or questions
to rules@usga.org. It
is the goal of the Rules and Competitions Department to respond to all Rules of
Golf questions submitted to the USGA within 15-20 business days. Through
an agreement with the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland, the
Rules jurisdiction of the USGA includes only the United States and its
possessions. All questions posed from outside this geographic area will not be
answered by the USGA and should be forwarded to the R&A at the following
